- Pepian: A traditional meat stew with a complex sauce made from various spices and roasted vegetables.
- Jocon: A green chicken stew made with tomatillos and cilantro.
- Rellenitos: Sweet plantains stuffed with black beans and covered in sugar.
- Pupusas: While originally from El Salvador, they are also popular in Guatemala, filled with cheese and beans.
As for watching Guatemalan cooking shows, I recommend checking out

Thanks for the recommendations! I’ve tried Pepian before and it was amazing. Are there any specific restaurants in LA where I can find authentic Guatemalan food?

You should definitely check out La Estrella in Boyle Heights. They have some of the best Pepian I've ever tasted. Also, El Chapin is a great spot for Rellenitos and other traditional dishes. Both places are really authentic!
