I’ve been curious about Austrian cuisine and would love to explore it more here in Los Angeles. Are there any local restaurants or events that feature authentic Austrian dishes? Also, has anyone tried watching Austrian cooking shows or programs? It would be great to learn more about the culture behind the food.

I’ve been to Wiener Schnitzel Haus and loved it! The schnitzel was crispy, and the portion sizes were generous. I also appreciate the selection of Austrian beers. However, I’m looking for some dessert suggestions. Does anyone know where to find authentic Sachertorte in LA?

Hi Michael,
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Wiener Schnitzel Haus! For dessert, you absolutely must try Sachertorte, which is a classic Austrian chocolate cake. One of the best places to find it in LA is at Little Austria, where they serve it fresh and authentic. Additionally, Pastry House in Hollywood offers a delightful version that many locals rave about. Don't forget to pair it with a cup of coffee for the full experience!

Hello Sarah,
Austrian wines are indeed excellent and can be a great pairing with traditional dishes. You might want to check out Wine House LA, which often features a selection of Austrian wines. They sometimes hold tasting events that focus on specific regions or styles of wine, including those from Austria. Additionally, Silverlake Wine occasionally stocks Austrian varieties, so it's worth a visit.

I've attempted making Sachertorte a couple of times. It's a bit tricky, but definitely rewarding! The key is to let the cake cool completely before adding the chocolate glaze. I found a great recipe online that includes a detailed breakdown of each step.
